SIWEC Lectures

2025 siwec lectures 26

The Sikh Missionary Society was honoured to be invited by the Sikh Welfare Council to deliver two in-depth and meaningful lectures as part of its elderly care initiatives, Sunehri Sahelian and Sunehray Pal. These programmes are specifically designed to support the holistic well-being of senior citizens, and the lectures were delivered by our dedicated lecturer, Jagmanjit Singh, who brought valuable insight and compassion to the sessions.

The Sikh Missionary Society continues to play a vital role in serving the senior members of the community by promoting spiritual awareness, emotional resilience, and mental well-being through the timeless teachings of Sikhi. By engaging seniors in thoughtful dialogue and reflection rooted in Gurbani, the Society helps them stay spiritually connected, mentally active, and emotionally supported during this important stage of life.

The two lectures, titled “Sikhi Wisdom in the Material World” and “Healing the Mind through Gurbani,” addressed contemporary challenges faced by seniors while emphasizing the relevance of Sikh values in everyday living. The sessions highlighted how Gurbani offers guidance for maintaining balance, contentment, and inner peace amidst worldly responsibilities and personal struggles.

The lectures were warmly received by the participants, who found the discussions both enlightening and comforting. Many seniors expressed deep appreciation for the practical examples, relatable explanations, and the opportunity to reflect on Gurbani in a supportive and engaging environment. Such programmes reinforce the Sikh Missionary Society’s ongoing commitment to nurturing the spiritual and emotional well-being of senior citizens and strengthening their connection to Sikh teachings.
