Raising Families with Sikhi Values

Sikhi Time!

Every Wednesday @ Central Sikh Temple from 10:30 am to 11:30 am

The Sikh Missionary Society organised the Raising Families with Sikhi Values programme with a specific focus on supporting and empowering mothers in the upbringing of their children in accordance with Sikh teachings.

The programme aimed to guide participants in nurturing children with strong moral, spiritual, and cultural foundations rooted in Gurbani, while also addressing the realities and challenges of modern family life. As part of the programme, talks were delivered by S.M.S. lecturer on relevant topics related to parenting, family values, character building, discipline, and spiritual development from a Sikh perspective.

The sessions provided a supportive and interactive platform where mothers were encouraged to reflect on Sikh principles and apply them in everyday parenting practices. Participants were able to raise questions and share concerns related to child upbringing, which were addressed by the lecturers with practical guidance grounded in Gurbani and Sikh values. These discussions helped bridge traditional Sikh teachings with contemporary approaches to child development, offering mothers meaningful and applicable insights.

The programme was conducted every Wednesday at the Central Sikh Temple from 10:30 am to 11:30 am. Through regular lectures, discussions, and open dialogue, Raising Families with Sikhi Values served as a valuable initiative for mothers to deepen their understanding of Sikh teachings and gain confidence in raising children who embody Sikh values in today’s world.
