But what is an Ardaas?

An Ardaas is a prayer in Sikhi. It is how a Sikh speaks to Waheguru, asking for guidance, strength, forgiveness, or help. It can be said alone or together with others, at home or in the Gurdwara. There is no fixed time. An Ardaas can be done whenever the need arises.

Through Ardaas, Sikhs remember the Gurus, the sacrifices made by Sikhs in history, and the values they stood for. This connects the person praying with the Sikh community, past and present. It is both a personal prayer and a collective one.
