7 Gurdwaras Yatra – A Spiritually Enriching Journey

The 7 Gurdwaras Yatra, organised by the Sikh Missionary Society, Singapore, was successfully conducted on Saturday, 22 November 2025, with enthusiastic participation from members of the sangat across various age groups. This spiritually enriching initiative was thoughtfully conceptualised to deepen understanding of the life, teachings, and supreme sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadar Sahib Ji, while fostering Sikh values, community engagement, and experiential learning. 

The Yatra commenced and concluded at the Central Sikh Temple and involved visits to several Gurdwaras across Singapore, including Khalsa Dharmak SabhaSri Guru Singh SabhaSilat Road GurdwaraPardesi Khalsa Dharmak DiwanSri Guru Nanak Sat Sang Sabha Katong, and Gurdwara Sahib Yishun. At each Gurdwara, participants engaged in structured educational sessions and reflective activities that highlighted key aspects of Sikh history and the enduring relevance of Guru Tegh Bahadar Sahib Ji’s martyrdom. Emphasis was placed on the practical application of Sikh principles such as courage, righteousness, compassion, tolerance, and selfless service (seva) in contemporary life. 

The programme was conducted in a well-organised, disciplined, and safe manner, with careful attention given to logistics, participant welfare, and effective time management. Throughout the journey, snacks and langar were provided to ensure the comfort and well-being of all participants. In addition, each participant received a goodie bag as a memento of the Yatra, commemorating their participation in this meaningful experience. 

The Yatra successfully fostered a strong spirit of sangat, seva, and spiritual reflection, encouraging meaningful interaction among participants and strengthening communal bonds. Feedback received from participants highlighted the educational depth of the programme, the smooth coordination, and the positive spiritual atmosphere experienced throughout the day.
